The front side of the St. Benedict Medal-Cross is the image of St. Benedict holding the cross of salvation in his right hand and his Rule for Monasteries in his left. To his right is the poisoned cup, shattered by the sign of the cross, and to his left, the raven which carried away a loaf of poisoned bread sent by an enemy. The Latin acronym reads: "The Cross of our holy father Benedict. May we be strengthened by his presence in the hour of our death!" The text at the bottom commemorates the 1400th anniversary of the birth of St. Benedict. Get into the Habit!
